Denise Scruggs
On Sunday evening at approximately 10:30 pm officers with the Wichita Falls Police Department stopped a 1996 maroon Buick Regal in the 1200 block of Central Freeway for expired vehicle registration. Officers approached the vehicle and identified the driver, and sole occupant, as 55 year old Denise Scruggs.
During a consented search of the vehicle officers located a glass pipe with burn marks on it, which is consistent with smoking illegal narcotics, several pills that were identified as Amoxicillin and a small amount of a white powdery substance that filled tested positive for cocaine.
Scruggs was arrested and transported to the Wichita County jail where she was charged with possession of a dangerous drug and possession of a substance in penalty group 1 under 1 gram.
