ANOTHER STOLEN GUN LOCATED AND RECOVERED!
On 04-22-20, at approx 7:17pm, officers responded to the 5500 Blk of Professional Drive (Highpoint Village Apartments) in reference to a disturbance/fight.
Upon officer arrival, 20 year old Damon King tried to leave the scene in a vehicle but was stopped. When officers approached King they could smell the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle.
During a probable cause search, a handgun was found under the drivers seat. It had been spray painted gold in an attempt to hide the identifiers. Officers were able to find the serial number under the paint. Records check revealed that the gun had had been stolen out of Vernon, Texas.
King was arrested and charged with Theft of a Firearm.
