Motorcycle Rodeo Results

The Wichita Falls Police Department Motorcycle Unit participated in the Capitol of Texas Police Motorcycle Chute Out in Buda, TX this past week.

Our officers worked hard and were able to put their motor skills on display. There were 144 competitors from many departments across Texas and other states, to include one competitor from Brazil.

The competition was intense and challenging and Wichita Falls PD was represented very well.

Scam Alert

ATTENTION RESIDENTS:

There have been several reports lately involving a group of subjects targeting our citizens with a solar panel scam. The subjects are described as being white males, in their 20s or 30s, driving a gray SUV. They refuse to give the name of their company because they say it is “new” but they do not have any problem asking for personal banking information.

Do not fall for this scam and, if they come to your door, please notify us by calling our dispatch center at 940-720-5000.

Stripes Capital Murder Suspect Arrested

** NEWS RELEASE **

21 year old Tajmon Robinson has been arrested and charged with Capital Murder in reference to the incident that occurred at the Stripes Convenient Store on SW Pkwy last weekend. Robinson was taken into custody last night t a residence in the 2000 blk of Garfield.

Suspect Arrested Following Disturbance

Jerome Willams, age 32

On 02-16-22, officers were dispatched to the 100 blk of Patterson in reference to a disturbance involving 32 year old Jerome Williams. Records check revealed that Williams was a WANTED FUGITIVE FROM JUSTICE and had an active parole violation warrant out for his arrest. After Williams was taken into custody, he intentionally went limp and refused to walk. During his resistance, he became violent, and kicked one of our officers in the shin. At the jail, his resistance continued and he spit on one of the jailers and tried to bite another. In addition to his parole violation, Williams was charged with the following:

• Assault on a Peace Officer
• Resisting Arrest, Search, or Transportation
• Harassment of a Public Servant (x2)

Subject Arrested in Stolen Vehicle

On 02-15-22, at approx 5:39am, in reference to an occupied vehicle check in the parking lot of Texas Tire, 1703 Seymour Hwy. Upon arrival, officers located the vehicle, a 2005 Chevrolet Tahoe, occupied by 52 year old Jerry Patterson in the parking lot. Records check confirmed the vehicle to be stolen out of Electra and Patterson to have an outstanding arrest warrant.

Patterson was arrested for the warrant and also charged with Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle.

Stripes Homicide Suspect Sought

WFPD officers responded on 02-12-22 at 4:56 am to the Stripes store located at 2200 Southwest Parkway to investigate a homicide. The officers arrived and found the store clerk, a 41-year-old male, had been murdered.

The WFPD detectives responded to the scene. Video of the incident shows a thin to medium build black male wearing a gray hoodie is the suspect who shot the clerk. It is believed the suspect left the area walking to the north.

The detectives are waiting for photographs and possibly video of the incident captured on the store’s security camera system. I will send those with any future update as soon as I receive them.

The victim’s name has not been released at this time.

The WFPD believes our community is safe and this appears to be an isolated incident.

NEWS RELEASE ON SHOOTING INVESTIGATION

Officers of the WFPD Special Operations Unit were searching for 29-year-old Dustin Davidson of Wichita Falls on the evening of 02-01-2022. Davidson was wanted for Violation of Parole. The original offenses associated with Davidson’s parole are Felon in Possession of a Firearm and Possession of a Controlled Substance/Penalty Group 1.

The officers initiated a vehicle stop on a 2017 Honda Accord in the Wal-Mart parking lot located at 3130 Lawrence Road at about 8:40 pm in order to arrest Davidson. Davidson was seated in the Accord’s front passenger seat.

When the officers approached the vehicle, Davidson produced a firearm and discharged the weapon. The officers fired upon Davidson striking him multiple times. Davidson was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The female driver of the Honda was struck during the gun fire. She was transported to the URHCS with non-life-threatening injuries. The investigation is ongoing and the body of the deceased has been sent for an autopsy.

A firearm was recovered from Davidson.

None of the involved officers were injured.

Citizen Police Academy

If you’ve ever wondered what it’s like to be a police officer, now’s your chance to find out.

The WFPD’s Community Services Section is now accepting applications for the Spring 2022 Citizen Police Academy. The free course is offered two times a year and is open to anyone 18 and older.

The class will start on March 7 and will meet on Monday nights from 6:00-9:00pm.Over the course of 12 weeks, students will endure an obstacle course, fire automatic weapons, witness drug dogs in action, get behind the wheel of a police cruiser and learn to make split-second decisions during live action scenarios.

Students will receive instruction from officers from the Motors Unit, SWAT, SCUBA, District Attorney’s Office, Fire Department, Crime Scene Investigation, Traffic, Patrol and more.
