The WFPD Community Services Section is currently accepting applications for the 33rd Citizen Police Academy. Classes will begin @ 6pm on Tuesday, September 8, 2015, and run each Tuesday thereafter until early December.
Class members will attend a 11-12 week course, one evening each week, for three hours per session and find themselves on an obstacle course behind the wheel of a police vehicle, firing automatic weapons, witnessing drug dogs in action, suiting up and making split second decisions during ‘Shoot Don’t Shoot’ and learning from officers on the following topics: Identity Theft, SWAT, SCUBA, Crime Scene Investigation, Traffic, Patrol, Drugs, Taser, Crash Investigation, and more.
Applicants are subject to a background check and spots will be filled on a first come, first served basis.
